At one point, we were doing literally a mix a day blending the best sounds of the rare dance labels for a small circle of close friends. Even Though B-Side Cuts And Obscurities Were Not New To Chicago... At this frame of time in Chicago... There were limited to no places to hear the "particular" type of sound "we" enjoyed consistently. Along with creating a clientel of some local jocks, a global customer base via private and internet sales, we were able to support our massive record collecting habit, thus Mr. Peabody Records was born. We opened our retail store in 2004, But Have Been Serving The World Much Longer As You Will Hear. In The Early Stages Of Mr. Peabody Records (around 10 years ago) , We Would Show Up At The Few Spots In The City To Meet Collectors/Jocks With A Similar Interest Of "Takin It To The Next Level". Bringing old gems from various places of the globe, yet to be discovered, to the ears of those yet to be reached. As Word Of Our Existence Grew Online, Our internet sales and trading grew rapidly as we found ourselves supplying many collectors and rare compilation compilers globally with the same serious passion. For many years we have been the "Missing Link", The guys that many talk about with a hushed whisper so that they could have the first crack at the "goodies". Due to popular demand, request from fans, customers, and those who may be late on the game, We've gotten back in contact with the old chums and have transfered some of "The Lost Tapes" we did back in the day into files that can be downloaded here. The Purpose, is to give you the listner an idea of what Mr. Peabody Records Is, And What Has Always Been About.. These mixes span back as far as 12 years and features Rare Disco, Boogie, Edits, Independent Tracks And Much More. Many of the tunes on these mixes have been talked about, studied and researched by many to only just now in the last few years becoming sought after dance rarities by many expecially in Chicago And Globally....We Will Be Adding A Couple Mixes Per Month Of Our Vintage Mix Series We Call "Mr. Peabody's Blast From The Past". Enjoy!!

The Peabody Disco Mixer - edited By Mark Grusane - November 2006

After A Long Week In the Shop And Finally Having A Sunday To Myself, I Had A Few Tunes Out And Was Taking A Listen. It Had Been Awhile Since I Did A Multi-Record Rough Around The Edge Edit So Since I Had A Few Records Lying Around, A Harddrive, And Of Course Beer. I Decided To Get Chopping Away. It Was Fun... Kinda Has The Old Element Of The Old Technology, Tape Deck "Pause Editing". Check Out This New Millenium Disco Mixer.

Mike Cole - Robbery - Dec 2001

Excellent Boogie Showcase with Mike Giving Solo On The Wheels. Many Off The Hook Tunes In This Mix. Definitely For The "Guess What Track This Is" Music Lovers. This Mix Is Very Reminding Of The Great Nights Had Over At Mike's Vibing Out On The Sound In His Basement. This Mix Features Some Of The Best "Boogie" Works By Kashif Which We By All Means Consider Him To Be One Of The Top Driving Influences Of The Sound Through The 80's. At The End Of This Night There Were About 20 Empty Cans Of Beer On The Floor.

Mr Peabody Records Live @ WNUR-FM Chicago Radio - Jan 2006

Clinically Inclined - Sound Experiment Radio Show w/ Dave Siska & Matt McQueen

Interesting Night As We Had Set Up To Go Hang Out With Dave & Matt - A 1 Hr Trip Up North To Get Down On The Airwaves. Showtime was at 10pm, We Closed The Doors To The Store At 9:15pm Being That Our Fellow Diggers Didn't Want To Leave. The Weather Forcast Was Snowy. After Risking A Couple Speeding Tickets And Sliding Over The Roads, The Peabody Caravan Made It To The Station At 10:30pm. We Enjoyed The Hospitality From Dave, Matt And The Crew, And Got Down For The Occassion.

AreU1Too? Promo Mix Opener - Edited By Mark Grusane - Dec 2001

During Winter Of 2001, We Did A Series Of Mixes Promoting Randolph Street Loft Events We Headed. The Low Key Invites Were Titled "AreU1Too?". They Didn't Last Long..Hmmm. Anyhow... This Intro Was Used As Promotion For The Vast Selection Of Music We Were Presenting To The Lovers Of "The Sound". The Flyer For This Event Featured A Distinctive Collage Of Eyeballs On One-Side. Power To The Peephole..

Mike Cole - Playing Amongst Ourselves - October 1999

Another Of The Many Sit In Sessions Over At Mike's House. Some Of The Intro Dialog Was Deleted But, The Jist Of The Message Had To Do With Converting The Chicago Sound. Anyone That Was Going Out In Chicago At That Time Knows This Was A Different Twist Of Sorts.. Good Tme Had By All. Plenty Of Cheap Beer Was Always The Catalyst In Starting These Classic Music Sessions Off Right. Being That Mike Is A Lover Of UFO Phenomenon, This Mix Worked Well As A Soundtrack To The "In Search Of" Video We Were Watching That Night..

Mark Grusane - Everybody Is A Star - Fall 1999

A Up-tempo Disco Mix By Mark With All Across The Board Disco Selections Formated To A Non-Stop Work Out!! Put On Your Gym Shoes. This One Is Good For Those Long Distance Late Night Drives In The Most Desserted Parts Of Arizona.

Chicago Party Invasion (Live Audio Rip) @ The Fizz - August 1996

During August Of 1996 We Gathered Some Money, Booked A Loft Space And Threw A Party On A Hot Summer Night On The Northside.. The Audio For The Video Was Ripped From A Video Camera That Was Recording.. We didn't bother to transfer the video because the Loft Space Was Totally Dark After We Altered The Interior And Set Up One Single Strobe Light.. There Are Many Breaks And Pauses Throughout The Tape. Although The Sound Quality Is Quite Hazy, We Tried Restored The Audio To The Best Of Our Abilities. As They Say, About Spur Of The Moment Events, Something Was Bound To Go Wrong, And It Did. We Forgot To Bring Booth Monitors For Blending/Cueing. It Was Rough Mixing With So Much Sound Bouncing Off The Concrete Walls, But We Made Due. Many Of The Rare Joints Heard In This Clip Have Later Become Underground Disco Classics Here In Chicago Today.
